Social media are web - based communication tools that enable people to interact with each other by sharing and consuming information. The use of social media has increased dramatically in today’s world. It plays a pivotal role in providing a platform for people to connect, communicate, share ideas etc. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn are some of the most popular social networks that usually make us curious. The day is not far off when everyone in this world will have a Face book account. Today being on social media is extremely important and necessary in our professional and personal lives and this was highlighted by the pandemic!

Social media is an integral part of our lives and are very productive. It is a helping tool for maintaining social support and getting updates. The new culture of working from home and online delivery of commodities is again the kind of pandemic. A wonderful area to advertise the goods or services is social media by sharing insightful material with target audience and develop a voice for the business that they can relate to. There are ample opportunities for web-based learning through social media. It provides the opportunity to connect with educators and educational resources which are excellent approach for them to learn new skills and advance toward their future career goals. Social media is very helpful in finding jobs.

Although social networking offers several advantages, it has negative aspects as well. Social media is changing the behavior of our society. It can lead to a shorter attention span and less efficient works. The privacy issues are also there. Now a day social media is being used to scam people for personal benefit. The youngsters tends to abuse social media and use it for fame.

However whether a social media is blessing or a curse is rely on our hands. When it is used properly, the benefits of the social media can far outweigh some of it downfalls.
